Always Learning

Mrs. Arnold and I are happy to have any opportunity to learn about being better teachers. We really missed being with everyone from BL at Fall Fest, but we invested in learning this weekend by taking a wonderful online training on how to teach letters, sounds and reading. We learned so much and are excited to implement new strategies in the classroom. The next week is full of opportunities for the BL staff as we travel to the teachers conference for Northwest Lutheran Educators on Wednesday. We're looking forward to relationship building, planning and learning. We encourage our students to be life long learners and always enjoy the adventure of learning.

It's a short week, but we have important things to do! In Bible we'll focus on our verse and understanding it's meaning after our daily devotion time.

Students are classifying by shape, size and color in math as they count and compare groups. We'll finish up this module and take the test on Tuesday.

In reading and writing we'll apply our classifying skills to sort letters by upper and lower case and learn how some letters are consonants and some are vowels. We will count the sounds in words using tokens and practice recalling story sequence. Students will do careful practice writing their first names and classify the letters in their names. At story time we'll review the role of author and illustrator in a book.

It's looking like our class will earn a 'bear party' for following directions on Tuesday...that's always a highlight.

In tech lab we'll practice classifying letters with some fun games.

It will be a short but sweet week with your kids!

Mrs. Luoma
