We will learn ASL signs with key words in each monthly verse. Students will practice saying the verse together at school, but most children need extra support from home to memorize the verse. Our class is memorizing the same verses as grades 1-8, but there are months where I take the liberty to shorten or simplify the verse to keep it age appropriate. If your child has older siblings at BLS and is good at memorizing, I encourage you to practice the entire verse as a family. Students who master saying the verse by the first quiz date of each month receive a big 'jewel'. Students who consistently master the verse by the end of each month are given special recognition at the end of the year.
