Fall is Here!

Yes, the seasons are turning and we are moving into fall.  It's a fun time of year where students are getting into the rhythms of school, making progress and looking forward to special events.  Fall Fest is a big event for our school and a fun activity for our community.  Thank you for helping your child register online and collect donations.  Your generousity makes a difference and helps make BLS a better place for all.

This week in Bible we are studying the Adam and Eve story.  I love this one, because Kindergarten students can really relate to temptation and understand how it feels bad to disobey.  It sets the scene for understanding sin and the need for a savior.

In reading this week we will cover letters Hh, Ii and Jj.  Our class is getting better at focusing and working as they do their letter reviews.  Remember to test your child after each letter and check if they are recalling letter names and sounds quickly.

After Spanish we discussed tools used in measuring the weather.  We made our own wind catchers and started a graph where we will measure and record the temperature each morning recess in the sun and the shade.

This week at story time we will focus on recalling the beginning, middle and end of the story.  This is in preparation for Teddy Bear Picnic on Friday (shhhh, it's a secret).  On that day our students will recall their own stuffed animal stories and their 8th grade friends with write them down.

During learning centers we played to learn by playing with friends in groups and identifying letters in different fonts using a hole puncher.

Have a great day,

Mrs. Luoma
