It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas....

Kindergarten is full and overflowing with the Christmas spirit! Everyone is so excited to give and receive presents. We know that one of the best ways we share the true gift of Christmas is performing in our big K-8 Christmas program on Tuesday. Everyone has worked really hard to know their parts and songs. Our class is thrilled to be part of the 'big kids' production. We hope you come and invite family and friends. You'll leave full of Christmas joy understanding that Jesus really is the reason for the season.

It's a short week, but we'll be busy!

We'll finish the story of Jesus' birth at Bible time. When we return in January, we'll be all set to hear about the visit of the the kings.

In reading, we'll practice writing letters. Students will play red word games, sounds games and read in small groups. Students will practice applying the 'cat-kite rule' on when to use a 'c' or a 'k' in a word.

In math we'll practice number order to ten. Students are learning to remember dot patterns in ten frame form for quick, fluent addition.

We'll wrap up some science experiments as we take an additional step in the process of recycling our own paper. Hopefully we'll have come dry, beautiful paper to bring home in January. We'll hear a story about how to solve the problem of not having a traditional Christmas tree. Students will use their STEM skills to make a member of their color group into a colorful tree. Watch for pictures on Seesaw.

On Wednesday we'll have chapel, enjoy a short Christmas movie and then finish our time before Christmas break with a classroom party.

It will be a week of joy and excitement for all!
