Working at a team

Today we introduced 'heads together', that's when a table can work quietly together to discuss a questions.  Students stand up and lean in to give their opinions or answers to their table then sit down when finished.  This exercise encourages teamwork, good listening skills and collaboration.  The class was excited to try this technique as we review weather concepts this afternoon.

Our morning began by finishing the story of Gideon.  We discussed how God wants us all to good leaders that trust in Him.

In reading our focus was on the letter Pp, then we played reading games for review.

We enjoyed practicing sound patterns in math and related them to music.  It's cool to see how important concepts are applied in multiple subjects.

After an active break in PE, we reviewed what we've learned about the weather and began a table competition quiz.

Our story had ties to weather concepts and was a funny tale about animals who didn't understand a storm.  Students used information from the text to answer questions.

It was fun to go to the library and check out new books at the end of the day.  We also review sight words and practiced for the quiz tomorrow.

It was a busy day in Kindergarten,
