Evaporation

As we study the weather, our class is learning about the water cycle and how water travels in a circle as it evaporates, condenses and then returns to earth as precipitation.  Ask your student to sing our water cycle song!  Today we moved outside to see how puddles of water evaporate over time.  It didn't take long for our shallow puddles to evaporate and everyone was amazed!

Today we discussed the hard path Joseph faced after his brothers sold him.  We reflected on his faith to believe in God's goodness and care even when his life took a terrible turn.

In reading we practiced the letter Mm in name, sound and writing.  Then we played reading games.  Our walk through the alphabet is going well.

We began a new chapter on position words and patterns in math.  It was fun to practice as a group making a pattern in line and following directions that used position words.

After P.E. and our science experiment, we listened to a story about what a farmer fed his animals and practiced recalling the sequence of the story.

At the end of the day we had a nice trip to the school library and also worked in the classroom on sight words.

It was a good day in Kindergarten,

Mrs. Luoma
