This week we will honor our Veterans at chapel on Wednesday. In class we'll be discussing how God uses heroes to protect others. We'll relate it to many Biblical heroes like Joseph and Moses. We'll share how God's word reminds us God can take any willing person and build them into a hero. This week in Bible we'll start learning about David and how he was an unlikely choice for King. We'll begin daily practice of our November Bible verse.
In reading, we'll cover letter Jj and add it to our writing. Students will practice listening and identifying vowel sounds in words. We will write letters, words and sentences using good sentence structure. At story time, students will compare and contrast narrative and expository texts. We will identify the main topic in an informational text and state two supporting facts.
Students will continue to work on fluency from 0-5 in addition and subtraction problems in math. On Tuesday we'll begin our next module where we continue to add and subtract.
In science we'll wrap up the unit on Weather and Sky with a final quiz and assessment.
We'll be working hard on learning our songs for the Christmas program, attending multiple practices every week. Our class is excited to be part of a whole school performance.
At center time we'll have time to practice math and phonemic awareness in small groups. Students will also finish up a few fall art projects for the classroom.
It is a shorter week, but we'll fit in a lot of learning!
