This Wednesday, our class has their turn at giving the chapel message. We have worked hard at learning all our parts, timing and communicating. Everyone is ready to make a positive contribution to our play and help those watching understand God's love and power. We hope you can attend and be encouraged!
After we finish our chapel message, our class will focus on learning and understanding The Lord's Prayer. Each day, we'll take a small part and dig deep to understand the meaning and apply it to our lives.
In reading this week we'll cover consonant 's' blends in phonics. New sight words are: your, all, out. The reader is, 'What Pets Do'. We'll study a text on places in a city community and write to show comprehension. Students will prepare to write a piece featuring one of their favorite places to visit in our community. They will share their opinion and give reasons for their preferences.
We will finish our module on writing two digit numbers in math and test our skills in several games at center time. Next, we'll study measurement, noting careful measurement is important in many aspects of our lives.
In tech lab, we'll practice consonant blends with a friend, playing an online board game.
Students will catch up with writing results from our latest experiments with our Bess Beetles. We'll brain storm new ways to learn more about our beetles for future experimentation. Students will think and discuss different environments in groups. We'll ask the question, "What can change an environment?".
In art, we'll be painting big, colorful flowers in the Georgia O'Keefe style.
If we keep on a good track, we'll be up for a 'Bear Reward Party' on Friday!
We're looking forward to a big week of learning and smiles,
Mrs. Luoma
