So Many Reasons to be Thankful!

We have so very many reasons to be thankful.  This month we'll be sharing a lot about what makes us give thanks to God.  Our thankfulness will move us to be generous with others and shine for Jesus.

This week in Bible we will learn how God's people finally made it to the Promised Land.  It is a story of accepting God's timing and trusting Him to lead us to the right place.  Our Bible verse for the month helps us to understand how God's people should be generous with all He's given us.

In reading and writing we will cover the letters n, m, h and have a quiz over letters r, m, n, h on Friday.  This will be a review week for sight words with a quiz on the first trimester's words on Friday for all those who need it.  We will share our opinions and learn to back up our opinions with a reason.  Students will write notes to their Bethlehem Buddies and begin writing sentences where they start sounding out and spelling their own words.

We will have a quick test on chapter three in Math on position words and patterns.  Next, we'll begin using numbers 6-10 in chapter four.  Students will work to carefully count and write using numbers 6-10.

In social studies we will cover consumers and producers, understanding our jobs earn us money so we can buy what we need and want.

We will begin wrapping up our science unit on weather and sky this week.  Students will learn more about severe weather; why floods happen and how lightning is formed.

In art students will connect natural forms to Native American art in totem poles.

Our first trimester is almost finished and our class is really progressing nicely!  I'm excited to move forward into new learning with each week.

Blessings on your week,

Mrs. Luoma
