Moving Forward from a Distance

We are happy to back after Spring Break and to be connecting with you daily in your remote learning.  We're aiming to make the best of each day and keep our standards high!

This week our class will learn about what happened after the resurrection of Jesus at Easter from Pastor Andy.  It's a delight to have a guest teacher and he is a wonderful resource to help explain Biblical truth to our class.

In reading we will study three new sight words: many, day, down.  Students will begin writing dialogue using correct sentence structure.  We will study the life above and below a pond habitat through an expository text.  Students will learn new vocabulary and write facts they learn from the book.

We're going to do one more week in math of subtraction AND addition.  This will give students the added challenge of noting the mathematical sign in each problem and solving accordingly.

In science we will study friction and systems that use force.  Students will make their own system that demonstrates multiple forces.  We will continue with weekly observations of our bean and pea plants, noting where they are in the plant life cycle.

At story time we'll be showcasing books that have a lot of dialogue and practicing asking and answering questions from a text using complete sentences.

Mrs.DeGraaf has a fun flashlight art project lined up for you on Friday!

Keep up the excellent work from home.  We are so proud of our class and their parents.

Mrs. Luoma
