Finishing April with Confidence

Well, here we are and April is almost over.  We're getting better and more comfortable teaching and learning from home.  If you're like me, it's gotten easier, but I miss real people so much I still don't like it.  That's O.K., because God has put us here for a reason and He will help us to make the best of it even though we don't understand why it's happening.  So let's be brave and choose to be faithful and positive as we move forward.

In Kindergarten we have lots of fun learning to do this week.

Pastor Andy will be finishing his guest teaching for our class at our morning Bible time this week.  I think he'll even be answering questions you post about the Bible.  I can't wait!

In reading and writing this week we'll study the new sight words: part, her, by.  We'll practice understanding a telling and asking sentence.  Write about facts we've learned from our anchor text: 'Over and Under the Pond', by first asking a question and then using a graphic organizer to right facts and a conclusion.  Students will read and identify 'l' blends.  We will be writing more about how we feel about our Mothers as we approach Mother's Day.

Students will learn the difference between an analog and digital clock in Math.  We will practice telling time on an analog clock by the hour.

In Science we will finish up our unit on Forces and Motion with a review and a quiz.  Then we will begin learning about Ladybugs, starting with their life cycle.

Mrs. DeGraaf will have a fun art project for us on Friday.  Students will be doing a guided drawing of an insect we see a lot of in the spring. It's always a great way to end a full week of learning!

Blessings on your week of learning,

Mrs. Luoma
