It's a new month and we're looking forward to the special event of Grand-Friends Day at BLS on Friday. This is a sweet morning of worship and fun; a great time for building relationships between generations.
This week in Kindergarten we will focus on understanding forgiveness and practicing our chapel play during Bible time.
In reading we will study the digraph 'sh' sound in words. It's exciting to see students apply their growing knowledge of sounds in reading and writing. Students will practice asking good questions and giving complete answers as we read texts. Our writing assessment will be focus on combining Social Studies and good writing as students write their own questions and answers.
We will begin a new chapter in math on subtraction. Our class is finding math has a language that is comparable to reading, both require composing accurate and complete sentences.
In science we will begin a fun unit on plants. This week we start with exploring seeds and answering the questions, 'what's inside a seed?' and 'what does a seed need to begin growing?'.
We love this time of year, almost to our third trimester and our class is growing by leaps and bounds. Students are becoming independent learners. Everyone is reading and beginning to write their own sentences. We know how to manage our materials. Students are understanding how to work in small groups. It all means we start marching forward quickly as March begins.
We love being your child's teacher and watching them grow!
