Here Comes Day 100!

This week's highlight will be celebrating Day 100!  Counting to 100 is a Kindergarten standard and having fun when we reach 100 days of school helps us review numbers and counting.  Our class will be counting to 100 in a multitude of ways, taking care to check their work.

We will finish learning how Jesus chose special students to be His disciples in Bible this week.  Next we will find out how much Jesus loved children and continues to loves each person no matter what their age.

In reading we will finish up our long vowel study with a focus on 'u' this week.  Students are learning to read both short and long vowel words.  We will compare and contrast characters in a book about families from two different cultures.  Our class is becoming confident at analyzing a text in both narrative and expository books.

We will be writing in our journals and responding to text with good sentences.

Goods and services are the topic of our social studies lesson this week.  Students will define these words and discuss how they purchase goods and services.

We will continue our study of color this week with paintings using complimentary colors as we become little Picassos.

I hope you can think of 100 reasons you're thankful!

Mrs. Luoma
