National Lutheran Schools Week

It's here.  One of the most exciting weeks of the year, National Lutheran Schools Week!!!

Students will be showing their school spirit and love of service with special activities all week.  It will be fun and crazy, but meaningful and good.  And yes, we'll continue learning through it all.

This week in Bible we will study how Jesus began his ministry by choosing twelve disciples.  We will discuss what it means to be a true disciple.  Classes school wide will compose prayers to add to a prayer book.  The Kindergarten prayer will be on thanking God for being our healer.

In reading we will study the short and long sounds vowel 'o' makes in words.  We will write about what we are learning in social studies and in our personal journals.  At story time we will recall the sequence in a text.

Everyone is excited to dive into our new math chapter on addition.  This week we'll be learning to add with care and check our work.  Students will learn that there are many ways to decompose a number into two groups.

In social studies we will practice being producers and consumers, then go on to define the differences between goods and services.  We'll focus on many of the products Washington state is good at producing and sharing with the world.

Hang on to your hats...it will be a fun week that will go by fast!

Blessings,

Mrs. Luoma
