Finishing February

School is the best place to be even on a snowy day.  We were thankful to see our friends at school even with a delayed start.  These changes to our schedule teach us to be flexible!

Tomorrow we will finish our chapter in math over numbers 20-30.  Then we will do a unit on time, focusing on learning the days of the week, months and how to read the time by the hour on an analog and digital clock.

Our class is finishing up a unit in reading and doing several accumulative test along with individual assessments in preparation for the end of the second trimester.  We're excited to start the next unit in reading and work on opinion writing pieces.

Everyone is enjoying learning about ladybugs in science.  We've covered the ladybug life cycle and will move on into learning about ladybug types, food, enemies and the ways they protect themselves.  We will also observe and write about our pea seeds; they are germinating!

Our afternoons are all about special events!  Today we got to watch a special movie as a reward for earning all our bears! Yay!  Tomorrow we celebrate with a belated Valentine's Day party.  Wednesday and Thursday both have afternoon assemblies and Friday is Grand-Friends Day.  It looks to be a fun, snowy and crazy week!

Blessings and safe travels as you come and go to school,

Mrs. Luoma
