Today we began the Bible story of Jesus being left at the temple when he was a boy. It was a good time for our class to realize Jesus was born and grew up just like they are doing; he loved his family, had siblings, traveled, did chores and probably liked all the things that our kids do. In the next few weeks we will learn about Jesus and His early ministry as He walked this earth.
We practiced writing some new sight words before music. We were so happy to have Mrs. B. back from her break with her baby!
In math we worked on putting numbers in order with numbers greater than 20.
After lunch the class heard an inspiring story written by an astronaut. In the next few weeks we will be reading all the nominees for the Washington Children's Choice Award...the best new books for children. We will vote on our favorites at the end of each week. It's great fun to explore new children's literature.
We practiced our new weekly reader and went on to write sentences about the story we are studying in reading.
At the end of the day we had fun in the library picking out new books and working on a new reading site in the technology lab.
We didn't mind the rain one bit! The rumor is there is a special rock to find on the playground...everyone is looking for it.
Happy Adventures,
Mrs. Luoma
