Building boats that can carry a load

Our class has been working hard at building boats for the last few days.  It's taken some time, testing and redesigning to come up with good boats.  Such is the life of a scientist and engineer.  Soon we will start testing our designs to determine the most sea worthy vessel.  We will celebrate everyone's ideas, because there's a lot to be learned from success AND failure.
This morning we began the story of Moses and learned how God spoke to him in the desert.  Next week we will hear about some of the miracles Moses experienced.
In reading we covered a new letter (Mm) and read in small groups.  We took a quiz on chapter 3 in math, practicing good test taking skills.
After lunch the class had fun at P.E. in the gym.  We heard a story about the adventures of a bears and recalled the story sequence.
In learning centers we played a letter game, sight word game, practiced on learning apps and built roads.

It was a lot cooler at recess...fall is here!
