Understanding Sequence

Today Mrs. DeGraaf and Mrs. Humphrey taught our class while I got to attend a science meeting of northwest educators in our state.  Bethlehem is fortunate to be able to send three teachers as STEM leaders to learn from the best each trimester.  I help bring back ideas and offer mentoring to the teachers in grades K-2.
Back at the school our class learned about what life was like in the garden before sin.  This week we are covering what happened in the lives of Adam and Eve in Bible class.
In math we are finishing up chapter 2 on using numbers 0-5, including comparing groups and ordering numbers correctly.
A big project for us in literacy is to begin to understand and recall sequence in a text.  Students practiced that skills in small groups and also began learning how to discuss and listen in a table group context.  Later in the week we will experience our own special story and then recall the sequence of events.
I was excited to hear the class was in the technology lab this afternoon practicing hand/eye coordination by using a mouse on the big computers.  We also had a turn in the library for a new book.
It's shaping up to be a fine week!

Blessings on your afternoon,

Mrs. Luoma
