Painting like Georgia O'Keefe

We studied the flower paintings of Georgia O'Keefe in art today.  Then we painted beautiful flowers in the same style and the class loved the results.  Watch for our art in the hallway soon.
This morning we learned more about the Lord's Prayer and what the words mean.
In reading we took a sight word quiz and then built sentences using words about gardening.  The class is becoming better and better at recognizing good sentences and writing them.
We had a fun time with our 8th grade friends as we drew flowers together and then read in pairs.
After lunch we explored making larger shapes out of smaller shapes.  It was challenging and we'll keep working on it next week.
At story time we share questions and answers from the text from a book about pigs who lived with a little boy.
In learning centers we made 2 dimensional shapes on the geo boards, built with blocks, changed words to have the 'ed' ending, and created our own art projects.

Blessings on your weekend,

Mrs. Luoma
