Hunting for aphids...

We watched a video yesterday of a real ladybug hunting for aphids.  Today we played a ladybug game where we acted like ladybugs and moved through a life cycle, looked for food and defended ourselves when faced with enemies.
It was a great morning as we learned about forgiveness and sacrifice from the 2nd grade class in chapel.
We wrote sentences about what ladybugs like to eat and other facts.
The class began a new math chapter on geometric shapes.  Today we practiced some 3D shapes.
After lunch we heard a narrative story about hats and gave our opinions.  For reading we listened to an expository story on gardening and answered questions from the text.
In learning centers we painted our lady bug sculptures, played a number game, sight word flash light game and built 3 dimensional shapes.
Good learning on a rainy day!
