Hello, Sam and Sarah!

We hope you'll come in soon to meet our new class pets, Sam and Sarah.  They live in our library and love to listen to us read!
This morning we began learning about the Easter story.  This is a sober and wonderful week.  I hope you are helping your child to celebrate the real meaning of Easter at home and sharing how thankful you are for the new life we have in Jesus.
At story time we heard a story about an owl who tried to disguise himself.  All week we will focus on asking good questions from a text and giving a complete answer.
We are becoming masters at subtracting in math and adding larger numbers all the time.
In reading we learned to identify the digraph 'sh'.  We practiced sorting words that contain 'sh' at the beginning or ending.
We are wrapping up several ladybug projects in science this week.  Today we completed our leaf life cycles.  Watch for your child's presentation published on SeeSaw!
In learning centers we colored Easter pictures for our Bethlehem Buddies, painted sunsets, built and practiced sight words.
Many thanks to Mrs. Van Horn for bringing in pizza for Jackson's birthday today.  We also loved the little Koala gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Green who just returned from a cruise to Australia!

We are thankful to all our kind and generous families; you are a special blessing,

Mrs. Luoma
