Good bye Lady bugs!

Several hundred real lady bugs were the focus of our attention today!  We observed a single lady bugs in a magnifying box and wrote down observations.  At the end of the day we walked to Horse Heaven Park and released a large group of lady bugs.  Then we brought some home to release, too!  The class knows all about good habitats for lady bugs.
This morning we finished the Easter Bible story, showing what happened in the days after Jesus body was placed in the tomb.
We took a sight word quiz in reading and went on to build sentences words that contain digraphs.
Our 8th grade friends came down and helped us talk through good observations from book illustrations.  And we enjoyed a dancing movement break with them.
After lunch we took on a new set of subtraction words problems.
At story time we read a book showed us different eggs and we guessed what kind of animals would lay them.
Our art project involved using clay to sculpt ladybugs.  I was fun to get our hands 'dirty' with the soft clay.

I hope you have Spring in your heart, we do!
