Subtraction

We began a new unit in math today on subtraction.  No one knew what the word meant before we started and in just a few minutes the class was subtracting like pros. 
This week our Bible story is about the woman who washed Jesus' feet with her hair.  We are preparing the class for the Easter story coming next week; the best story!  At story time the class practiced summarizing a text.  In the afternoon we practiced our chapel play.  We are looking at all the ways the letter 'y' can act like a vowel in reading.  At the end of the day we played to learn at subtracting numbers using a number line, painted sunsets, built strange towers and played learning games on the iPads.  It's been another good day in Kindergarten.
