Today we learned what the word summarize means and practiced summarizing a story. The class loves learning high level vocabulary words and applying them to different subjects.
Our day began with prayer and we challenged everyone to think of something they could do at school or at home to show someone else grace. I hope you see your child being gracious to others at home this weekend! Our chapel play practice is progressing. This kind of project helps us learn patience, timing, listening, public speaking and artistic expression. It's well worth our time. In math we continued to decompose numbers in reverse addition. Now we are able to find missing numbers in our math sentences. They don't know it yet, but that's algebra! In the afternoon we wrote about Grandparent's Day and did a great art project illustrating the concept of a reflection. In learning centers we read to friends, designed pictures on black, decomposed numbers and built cities where people live in harmony with animals.
We love these bright kids!
