We started the week off with fun and spirit by wearing comfy pajamas to school. Everyday this week will be a celebration of our strong school system and privilege of learning about Christ as we learn all the subjects.
The class agreed that the Good Samaritan was kind and that his kindness was a sacrifice of his time and money, but the right thing to do. We are beginning to understand that God calls us to invest in others, and that has a cost. We reviewed end marks and concepts of print at story time in a funny book about a moose. In math we reviewed putting numbers into counting order. This week will be all about the vowel 'e' in the short and long form. We are beginning a student generated chart listing words with short and long sounds. In science we began the study of the sense of taste; it's all about the 'buds'. We wrote and read a new family of sight words before recess. Our cozy day ended in learning centers where we counted, played iPad learning games, played with play doh and built beautiful block patterns.
The class worked hard today and each one should be proud of their efforts.
Blessings,
Mrs. Luoma
