Our Last Full Week!

Here it is...our last full week of learning at school before summer break!

At Bible time, we'll do a short devotion each day.  This week students will be able to ask any Bible questions they have and we'll do our best to answer them with scripture.  We will also discuss ways to find answers in the Bible and from other reliable sources.  Students will learn that we don't know everything and that many questions will be answered fully when we get to heaven.

In reading we will keep up our practice of counting syllables in words.  Our class will learn about homophones and start a list of words that are homophones.  We will write about what we're looking forward to this summer.  Students will take home their writing journals on Wednesday.  We encourage you to have them practice writing entries in their journal throughout the summer months.  Students will hear and review a book on people who have jobs at night.  We will respond with writing about our opinions.

This week in math our focus is on money!  This is a fun and practical introduction to coins and bills.  Next year students will learn more about how to count using different coins.

We'll wrap up our science unit on Living Things this week.  First, our class will explore how people and animals can change the environment.  Students will take a final written test and bring home their science notebooks.

In social studies, we'll finish with a magazine about Neighborhoods.  Students will share about the neighborhoods they live in and see how neighborhood differ in different places.

We'll fit in a final art project where Mrs. DeGraaf is teaching from the book, 'Oh, the Places You'll Go!'.

In tech lab well be practicing money skills and on iPads students will have free choice on learning apps.

We go strong right through the finish line.  Thanks for cheering us on!

Mrs.  Luoma
