Well. It's been a crazy couple of weeks with switching to at home learning and then dealing with a big snow. I hope you are all healthy and have had some fun days in the snow. Let's pray we can begin again in the classroom and stay there. Thank you for keeping a close watch on your families health and taking the necessary precautions to keep us all well and in school.
What will we be doing this week? God willing...
In Bible we will finish the story of Zacchaeus, learning more about how Jesus loves everyone and will meet us right where we are in life. Work on memorizing our February Bible verse by Friday.
We will cover reading words with a long 'e' vowel sound, reviewing long vowel rules. We'll use a the word 'sweet' in our writing this week. Students are learning to edit their writing and then rewrite for a finished piece. Our new sight words are: no, so, go.
On Tuesday we'll celebrate Valentine's Day and Day 100! Students will write about 100 things, make collections of 100, do 100 exercises and write to 100. At the end of the day we'll have a classroom Valentine party.
In math we will finish our chapter on measurements and show what we know on a test on Friday.
In art we will show our hope for spring by painting complementary color bouquets Picasso style.
I'm praying we all get used to a regular school schedule again this week, stay well and enjoy the fun of learning together in the classroom.
Mrs. Luoma
