Parent-Teacher Conferences

At the end of this week we'll begin meeting with you on Zoom to share all the amazing progress your child has made in Kindergarten this trimester.  It's an important opportunity to ask questions and to celebrate all the learning your child has done.  You'll see a folder come home on Friday containing your student's report card, information on how to understand the report card, specific suggestions of skills to work on at home, and a packet of writing samples from this trimester.  It's great if you have a chance to look over the contents and have your questions ready before our conference.  We're looking forward to meeting with you!

This week in Kindergarten we'll be perfecting our parts for the Christmas program during our Bible study time.  Thank you for helping your child memorize their part and say it with expression!

In reading we'll finish up the alphabet!! Yay!  Students will study letters x, k, and z learning their sounds and how to write them correctly.  We'll cover the new sight words: me, be, see.  Students will write about their favorite Thanksgiving food giving their opinion and stating a reason..

We will finish up Chapter 4 in math using numbers 6-10.  Students will learn about ordinal numbers and realize they already use them in their daily speech. Our test is on Friday.

In science we will explore the process of evaporation and recycling paper products.  We'll set up the start of a project where our class will make new paper from our recycle bins...we may even add sparkles!

Students will practice identifying consumers and producers noting the difference between making a good and providing a service in social studies.

Friday conferences begin in the afternoon, so it is an Early Release day.  The week will go by quickly!

We have so many things to be thankful for, especially our students and families.
