Being peacemakers

This morning we learned how to be peacemakers from the 4th grade class in chapel.  We worked on spreading peace in the classroom and on the playground.
After chapel we worked on our sequence writing and journals.
In math we worked on more subtraction problems, using accurate pictures and number sentences.
We heard an informative story about spiders at story time.  In reading we practiced finding and reading the digraph 'ch' in sentences.  Then we had fun playing reading games.
The class watched a video of a real ladybug going through it's life cycle and made connections with the vocabulary we have learned.
At learning centers we put together a puzzle, cut out big leaves, practiced subtraction sentences and made good sentences using descriptive words.
We worked very hard on reviewing our expectations on respectful behavior at school and the consequences for poor choices.  I am proud of how smart and capable this class is, and when their behavior is also good...they are golden!
