Reading is getting exciting as we move into long vowel sounds. We learned that when 'e' is on the end of a word, it usually is silent and makes the first vowel say it's name. Over the next few weeks we'll be doing a intensive work on vowels about every other day. Start practicing reading long vowel words at home!
The class began the day with news and further details about the Magi and how they knew to watch for the star.
We updated our calendar for a mini-math lesson.
For Friday art, we learned about the artist Keith Haring. Students learned how to created simple images and add movement marks.
At story time we listened to a book about a panda who didn't like to share his doughnuts.
All the Indoor Olympic teams met at the end of the day to organize themselves for the obstacle course.
So it felt like a quick, little day. We're still hoping for warmer temperatures and getting back to a regular schedule.
Blessings on your weekend, be safe, be thankful,
Mrs. Luoma
