Yes, this cold weather has been a challenge in the area of recess. We are trying as many creative, active activities as possible AND yet...we long for a regular day where we can go outside to burn off energy and get some fresh air.
This morning we began the story about the magi who followed the star to find Jesus. Many nativity scenes show the wise men at the side of the new born king, but really they arrived much later.
We studied our anchor text in reading and wrote about the story.
Our 8th grade friends came down and read with us. It's great to see our class beginning to read to others and showing pride in their learning.
In math we counted and wrote numbers to 30 using ten frames.
In the afternoon we learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and expressed our thoughts about how to make the world a better place in a cool art project.
Mrs.Thornton came down and taught the class a lesson on mercy.
Have a good weekend and stay safe and warm!
Blessings,
Mrs. Luoma
