Moving into Reading

Our class has finished most of their initial assessments and today we got to move into our new reading curriculum.  It took our school a long time to study and decide on a new system.  Our school chose a rigorous program, because we get a lot of bright students here.  You may notice papers coming home that look difficult, be assured we will be making adjustments and differentiating as we go.
At Bible time we learned how God created the land and the water on the earth.  We agreed, we love our world!
Story time was about recognizing rhyming words and in math we compared groups to show which group had more.
It was our library day in the BLS library and we enjoyed picking out new books and hearing a story from our special reader, Mrs. Adrian.  During library we had a surprise fire drill!  The class did well and remembered how to follow directions to safely evacuate the building.
Everyone is settling in and adjusting to all the new experiences of starting the school year.  We are thankful and blessed to have a great class!
