We loved playing outside in the sunshine today and hope it means spring is around the corner! At Bible time we defined the word 'mercy' and talked about out chapel play. We are beginning to practice for our chapel presentation in March. You'll want to come and watch our play on the March 30 chapel! We heard a funny story about saying 'yes' to everything! In math counted table points and awarded orange table as the 'initiative' winners. We found all the ways to make 9 before taking a sunshine break. In reading we defined our new character goal 'encourage'. All the new table teams will work on encouraging their classmates for the next several weeks. We practiced our new sight words: with and they. In science we continued the exploration of the eye, learning many of the internal parts. This week in reading we will highlight the vowel 'u' in it's long and short form. Today we identified words that have either the long or short 'u' sound. At learning centers we practiced writing addition sentences with a paper plate game, built with blocks, played with play doh and identified vowels in our Owl Vowel game.
