Compassionate hearts

We talked about and practiced our Bible verse for this month.  Kindergarten children know a lot about compassion, it's a character they find easy to show others and I'm glad.  The verse is a great teaching tool on good character: I hope you'll talk about it at home and help them put this verse in their hearts.
We worked on the long and short vowel 'i' in reading.  Challenge your student to watch for words with different vowel sounds and to think before they sound out words.  The class wrote addition number sentences in math.  At story time we heard a funny story about a girl who had mice living in her hair and recalled story events.  We wrote on the subject of love in writing, noting all the many ways to show love.  In art we studied Picasso and complimentary colors as we painted flowers.  At the end of the day we read to each other, finished Valentine cards, built zoos and sorted.  This was a fine week of learning.
