We went from sprinkles to a real rain by the end of the day. Please send your kids to school with a jacket that has a hood!
It was back to the fun of learning after the wild and crazy day of Indoor Olympics last Friday. I was glad so many of you came out to watch the teams compete at this special event.
We finished the story of Peter being called as a disciple of Jesus this morning. We hope everyone learns to be 'fishers of men'. In reading we are beginning a vowel study where we contrast short and long vowels. This week we will concentrate on the vowel 'a'. The class counted and compared numbers from 10-20 in Math. We listened to a story about Martin Luther King Jr. at story time and recalled the story sequence. In science, our focus in on the sense of smell this week. Our 8th grade friends came down to read with us and dance before third recess. We made a trip to the library for new books and to the technology lab for reading practice at the end of the day.
Stay dry and well!
Mrs. Luoma
