We are learning to listen carefully to a text so we can recall sequence and story details. All these skills transfer over to great reading habits.. so we practice now, even before we learn to read by ourselves.
Our class learned more about what the tabernacle was like at Bible time. It's a good story for emphasizing teamwork (our new table character word). God's people worked together to gather and make all the parts of the special place of worship.
In reading we had a phonics review and then our weekly quiz. The class used pictures and words to organize story details and sequence from a story about the four seasons.
When our 8th grade friends came down, we wrote letters together to put in the Operation Christmas Child boxes next week. We're looking forward to packing boxes with our friends next Tuesday!
After lunch we learned about sentence end marks and heard a funny story about an exclamation point! Yes!!
In math we are beginning a new chapter on graphing data. Today the class organized data from pictures into a graph. We will use our new skills to graph data in science too!
We are now practicing every day our Christmas songs for the Christmas program.
Our day ended with a lesson on friendship and valuing others from our counselor, Amy Thornton.
We worked hard today and finished the week strong. You can be proud of your child!
Blessings on your weekend,
Mrs. Luoma
